A well-formatted bio is easier to read and looks more professional. But Instagram doesn't make formatting easy — the app often strips line breaks and spacing. Here are proven techniques to make your bio look clean.

Line Break Methods

Method 1: Write in Notes App First

Compose your bio in your phone's Notes app with proper line breaks, then copy and paste it into Instagram. This preserves line breaks better than typing directly in the app.

Method 2: Use Line Break Characters

Some invisible Unicode characters act as line breaks. Search for "Instagram line break generator" online to get these special characters.

Method 3: Period-Space Method

End each line with a period followed by Enter. This forces Instagram to maintain the break. Remove the periods later if desired.

Special Characters for Structure

  • Use · (middle dot) as a separator between items on the same line
  • Use | (pipe) for a clean vertical divider

Font Generators
